What it’s Like to Work with Me

For me, my work is my life. And I enjoy every bit of what I do with thorough passion and vigor. I love developing great bonds with the people who work with me and I guess that’s what my clients love about me.

It’s not uncommon for couples to book weddings with me and then come back for other events such as anniversaries or baby showers. A lot they say has to do with the way I treat my clients- similar to family maybe.

I love showing my way of working, especially for those clients who are doubtful regarding who to choose as their main event wedding photographer. For me, satisfaction is when a client gets exactly what they’ve envisioned of for their big day and what could possibly be better than that?

Here is a short summary regarding what it’s really like to work with me. Be sure to read in between the lines, you might be surprised while doing so.

The day right before the wedding

I like to let clients know that I’m excited to shoot with them so I send them a little message. I then ensure all my gear is ready, working and set for the on location photo shoot. Next, I make sure I’ve pinned the right location and check out how far the venue is from my home, just to ensure I reach on time. Also, I make sure my vehicle is all set and full with fuel to avoid last minute unnecessary delay.

The morning of the wedding

I begin with a huge breakfast that will keep me going throughout the day. I ensure I’m hydrated and have my lunch packed with me to avoid getting grumpy throughout the shoot. I put on my best attire that represents my brand and style of working.

The coverage of the groom

With my fierce game face on, I go and meet the groom and ensure he’s at ease. I then build up rapport with close friends and relatives so as to lessen the nerves and anxiety in the room. I then begin my groom’s side coverage. From the rings and cufflinks to the bowtie and suit, there’s no corner that’s left untouched.

The coverage of the bride

Next comes the showstopper of every wedding- the bride herself. These images are similar to those of the groom’s coverage, except that they’re slightly brighter, playful and colorful too. I smile and try to again make everyone feel comfortable by introducing myself, right before I begin work. My focus again is on sheer detailing, the hair, bouquet, engagement rings, gown, veil, shoes and more. Did I mention those stunning bridesmaids too?

The actual ceremony

What actually goes on here isn’t in my control. My sole responsibility is to capture every little detail and emotion to the best of my ability. Some venues are challenging in terms of lighting while others not so much.

Family, group and other celebratory photos

There’s no wedding album that’s termed complete without clicks of the family and close friends by the couple’s side. Guests entering with huge smiles are just so classic and so are the expressions when the bride makes her way down that altar.

On locations

Once the ceremony is over, it’s time to click away portraits of the couple in the most stunning locations with great lighting, all present in their venue. While others relax, it’s up to me to step up my game and take full advantage of this time thoroughly.

The reception

It’s time for the guest to let their hair down and enjoy a night full of fun, food and entertainment. There are a plethora of shots that must be captured, including the cake cutting and first dance amongst many others.

Right after the wedding takes place

The party may be over for many but for me, this time is absolutely essential in terms of ensuring all the photographs have been safely secured and saved via memory cards into my computer. No matter how long it takes, I can only rest after doing so. And this terms the end of a long and fulfilling wedding coverage night.
